    JISC eCollections

    New resources for UK research

    Together with JISC Collections we’re launching two major new resources that offer UK researchers an easy way to discover valuable content across what were previously separate archives.

    Part of the new JISC eCollections service, JISC Historic Books and JISC Journal Archives bring together over 350,000 books, and 600 journals, using meaning based search to help users serendipitously find related materials through simple, integrated interfaces.

    Linked Data Linking Lives

    Linked Data, Linking Lives

    Linked Data can open up new routes into information, giving researchers the opportunity to discover and use a range of valuable research collections.

    Through the Linking Lives project, we’re working with Linked Data from the Archives Hub to create a new biographical interface. By combining archival descriptions with other data sources, we’ll be helping researchers to make new connections between people, places, times and events.

    Together with colleagues at The University of Manchester, we’re using Augmented Reality to bring special collections to life by surrounding original materials with digital online content.
