  • Value for money in automatic metadata generation (ViM)

This Intute project aimed to gain a clear understanding of the information search and retrieval needs of Higher Education, to identify opportunities for increasing the effectiveness of metadata and to improve the efficiency of metadata generation processes. It investigated the trade-offs between 'value to user' and 'cost of creation' to establish the optimum point for 'value for money' in metadata generation.
