Matt Ramirez

Working within the Learning, Teaching and Professional Skills (LTaPS) team, I am the technical lead/project manager on a number of projects and services, most notably SCARLET. My primary focus investigates the use of innovative technologies, such as Augmented Reality, to enhance the student experience, making their learning experiences interoperable and delivered on a variety of devices. I am currently involved in e-learning projects across a diverse range of subject areas including Sociology, Business, medicine, geo-spatial data and cultural heritage.

Professional Interests and Background

I have been developing multimedia for the past 15 years, and my passion lies in looking how innovative technologies can assist in the support of learning at every level. In recent years, I have been researching Augmented Reality as a visual tool to engage and enthuse students in their subject areas. I am focused on using a student-centred approach that can inform future development and ultimately lead to a better learning experience.
