Blogging at Mimas
How and why we use blogging and other networking tools – from Twitter to YouTube, it's all here
Blogging and Web 2.0
Mimas is developing a culture of professional blogging. Several of our service teams successfully use blogs and other Web 2.0 tools to share ideas, make announcements and promote our portfolio.
See lists (and the links) of our Web 2.0 and social media activities to the right of this page.
Why professional blogging is important to us
We believe that interactive publication tools such as blogs, Twitter, and YouTube can be extremely effective channels for debating thoughts, and for outreach.
But we know our approach must be strategic, with careful consideration of the risks and opportunities – and also of audience, voice, and purpose.
Blogging and other social networking tools allow us to:
- share knowledge both within Mimas and the broader community
- capture and 'try out' embryonic ideas
- learn through writing and engagement, developing new ideas as a result
- track and manage our projects, supporting formal reporting processes
- have conversations and interact with people in the online spaces they inhabit
- find new partners and collaborators, and also reach new audiences
What's next?
We're in the midst of formulating and developing a blogging strategy, and look forward to highlighting new blogs, YouTube channels, and other social media activities in the future.
